I’m very excited to return to my native Moore County for an extra special show to celebrate the Old North State. The “North Carolina Beautiful” art show will completely fill Broadhurst Gallery in Pinehurst, with more than 50 new paintings celebrating North Carolina’s beautiful seasons and topography. This exhibition is diverse in subject matter and each painting is captured with a variety of exciting new techniques that I have been mastering during this year. The Pilot newspaper has done a wonderful feature about it.
Gardens are the essence of my show. Tranquil early morning sunrises to secret peaceful hideaways that one stumbles upon are the subjects that have intrigued me for more than 40 years. These paintings remain a constant reminder of how spectacular North Carolina is with all of its natural treasures.
Coupled with the sale of these originals paintings, I will be autographing copies of my coffee table book “North Carolina-Beautiful” during the opening weekend. As you flip through the pages you imagine yourself hiking the majestic North Carolina mountains, soaking up local culture near historical landmarks or simply walking the shores of our pristine beaches.
Judy Broadhurst, owner of Broadhurst Gallery, has been showcasing great contemporary artists since its conception. They feature fine art for private and corporate collectors and all are welcome to come and enjoy this extraordinary show. The gallery is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 11 AM-5 PM; Saturday 1-4 PM; Sundays and evenings by appointment (call 910-295-4817).
I look forward to returning to Pinehurst and sharing this colorful collection of my latest artwork. I have always considered North Carolina and “artist paradise”. I hope you will join us and let me share my interpretations with you.
WHY VISIT PINEHURST
HERE'S FIVE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS TO DO
-
While visiting the show, I invite you to explore the charming Village of Pinehurst. Its a great day trip from Greensboro, Charlotte or Raleigh.
-
Of course there is golf! One of the nations best is Pinehurst No. 2 but Pine Needles or Mid Pines are excellent as well. A stellar dinner or lunch can be had at the Carolina Hotel. I was a waiter there when I was a student at Sandhills Community College!
-
If you're driving from the Triad a swing through Seagrove on the way back to stop and see my friend Ben Owen at his pottery studio.
-
If you're driving from the Triangle stop in Cameron for some epic antiquing.
-
